the newsletter of
The National Orchestral Association
Volume 9
January 2002
The indomitable spirit of the American people was in
evidence everywhere around the country following the September 11th
attacks. Americans responded to
adversity in the same way that they always have, facing the nightmarish
events with unity, dignity, courage, and a resolve to protect American
values and liberties.
We are so grateful to the many friends and patrons of
the National Orchestral Association who attended the October 4th
Gala in New York, and are especially appreciative of those who traveled to
New York, despite the specter of uncertainty and terror. Our Gala exhibited the courage of the American people and the
commitment of so many to support the accomplishments of American classical
musicians and composers.
The Gala was a moving tribute to Steven B. Allnatt of
the American Express Company. The
sold out evening was one more example of the way in which Americans pull
together in difficult times. We
cannot express enough our gratitude and admiration for our loyal NOA
supporters.
